Pai

Left Chang Mai after being there for about 5 days. Seems to be trend, where we get somewhere and are staying just a little longer than intended. With the luxery of time thats not such a bad thing, and probably means Im having a good time...all this is true.

In any case I rented a motor bike again, this time for 4 days and wanted to head out to the tiny town of Pai. About 100km's away from Chang Mai. While only 100km's away it took well over 3 hours (lunch break included) to get there as the road wound up and down the mountains. The road looked like it should have been taken out of a sports car commercial with all the tight turns and great views. Upon my arrival I found a pretty sweet bungalow just outside of town for only 200 baht. Splitting with Pat only costed me 100 which is about 4 bucks US. Not bad at all. It even had a balcony and we chilled there that night with some beers.

We thought we were the only people there until some chick rolled up. Turned out to be a 29 year old Hungarian believe it or not, who was arguably one of the most insane person I have met so far. She had been there about 2 weeks already and was supposed to leave after 3 days. Needless to say it was another funny evening. I really think people who travel solo are just dying to talk to people and once someone says something all bets are off....Although I would probably be the same way...who knows.

Second day, rode around the country side, which is just unbelievably gorgeous, and I wish I was able to upload pictures to do it some justice. Pai is a hippie town I guess and theres tons of them walking around. lots of vegetarian places and a relaxed feel. I had read about this gym/pool that was also just outside of town, and Pat and i went there in the afternoon to chill.

The pool was amazing, played cool music and served great drinks. Started talking to some people and lounged in a hammock...Life is good.

Off to Mae Hong Song tomorrow...another 100km's
